I recently read somewhere that studying the Bible can be compared to mining for gold. If we make little effort and merely "sift through the pebbles in a stream," we will find only a little gold dust. But the more we make an effort to really dig into it, the more reward we will gain from our effort. So now is an opportunity to "dig in." On Tuesday, September 22, at 9:30am, a new Scripture Class will begin in Room 104 the Religious Education building.
The class will read and discuss Letter of St. James, First and Second Letters of St. Peter and Letter of St. Jude. These letters are addressed to the Universal Church in general, not to a specific community, for example, the Philippians. This study includes references from the Catechism of the historical references at the time these letters were written.
Please take this opportunity to join a small informal group and discover a small nugget of gold in your Bible.
We will met every Tuesday in Room 104 in the Religious Education building. This session will last for eight to ten weeks. For more information, please call Carol Shaffer at 372-3595.
